Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received the members of the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies and 19 male and female students of the Emirati Leaders Scholarship Programme, and Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Managing Director of Al Muwatta Centre.

He welcomed the scholars and students and exchanged talks with them abour the forum and its role in promoting awareness about Islamic teachings based on tolerance, justice and peace, and rejecting fanaticism, extremism and sectarian violence and discrimination.

Shaikh Mohammad highlighted everyone’s responsibility in projecting a true image of our Islamic religion and the importance of further efforts and cooperation to achieve the purposes of Islam..

He underlined the role of scholars in explaining the principles of Islam and its noble objectives and refuting ideologies promoted by those who claim to be scholars and distorted the image of Islam with their actions and words that have nothing to do with the true Islam.

The scholars expressed their pleasure at participating in the forum and thanked Shaikh Mohammad, emphasizing that they would make more efforts to demonstrate the true picture of Islam and its call for peaceful coexistence and renouncing hatred and violence.
