Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday received French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, who is currently on a visit to the country.

They discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them to serve the strategic interests of both nations and people.

Shaikh Mohammad and the French minister explored avenues of joint cooperation in military and defence areas, and the level of coordination between both sides with regards to operation, trainings and exchange of expertise, in lien with the leadership of both countries to push bilateral relations and cooperation towards wider horizons.

The talk also touched on a number of regional and international dossiers, with a focus on efforts to combat violence and terrorism as well as Iran’s nuclear programme and the progress of the “Operation Restoring Hope” in Yemen.

Shaikh Mohammad and Le Drian discussed a number of issues of mutual concern and the latest regional and international developments.
