Dubai: Improving government performance requires a daily and continuous evaluation in order to implement the National Agenda and strategic plans for achieving the UAE Vision 2021, said His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Shaikh Mohammad made the statement as he reviewed the performance index for 45 federal government bodies. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, was present.

Shaikh Mohammad said that evaluating performances and following up on it is based on the unwavering framework of the UAE government that aims to enhance the efficiency of government work and improving the levels of rendered services in order to make people happy and meet their aspirations and requirements.

“We have our long-term strategic plans to enhance government work and shifting it into advanced levels. We believe that in order to obtain the best results that are in line with aspirations to be ranked first globally, government performance must be evaluated, and work plans and priorities must be updated periodically,” said Shaikh Mohammad.

Shaikh Mohammad reviewed the performance index results for federal government bodies and ministries, as well as developments made in order to achieve their goals and plans. The review focused on the performance index of the ministries of education, health and social affairs, due to the vital services provided by these bodies. The government is currently following up on more than 3,000 indexes using a central electronic system called the UAE government performance management system (Adaa 2.0).

Adaa 2.0 excels as a comprehensive electronic platform for supporting the decision-making process, because it provides officials with accurate details regarding rates of key achievements, goals, performance, programmes and initiatives.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and other officials were present.
