Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the designation of two new residential areas for Emirati housing in Dubai.

The areas located in Nad Al Sheba’s Wadi Al Safa and Al Tai in Al Aweer 1 will include around 8,000 plots of land. The decision is in line with Shaikh Mohammad’s continued keenness to ensure citizens’ happiness and comfort.

Engineer Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, revealed that the distributed plots will span an area of 12,000 square feet. Lootah indicated that the allocation includes building 1,400 villas in Wadi Al Safa and 1,000 villas in Al Tai. He added that both areas will have facilities such as parks, mosques, schools, playgrounds, and public libraries, in addition to shopping and health-care centres.

Lootah said that the residential growth currently witnessed in Dubai and Emirati requests for land for houses required the municipality to study the requirement in a clear manner and revise area planning.

He added that the plots of land were allocated in line with the true requirements of Emiratis.

Lootah added that the directives of Shaikh Mohammad to the municipality ensure the happiness and well-being of Emiratis and residents and motivates the municipality to come up with innovative and ideal methods to achieve this goal and promptly fulfil Shaikh Mohammad’s vision.
