Abu Dhabi: Lt General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has launched the Ministry of Interior Youth Council.

The council aims to support and empower distinguished youth capabilities at the ministry, channel their efforts to support the ministry and use their ideas to identify pressing challenges. They will also suggest possible solutions and programmes so as to launch initiatives that support the ministry’s approaches.

Members of the council will be chosen from Emirati youth who are aged between 20 to 30 years based on objective and transparent steps.

The new council comes in line with the ministry’s future approaches and builds on the Emirates Youth Council launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to strengthen sustainable communication with Emirati youth and listen to their views and ideas to recognise their needs and to provide them with enabling environment to bring their dreams and aspirations to fruition and enable them to play central role in the UAE’s progress of development and prosperity.

Commenting on the move, Major General Dr Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said the council is the fruit of the sustained efforts made by the ministry to motivate national cadres to innovate and be distinguished to support the police and security work progress.

“The Council is a qualitative addition that will further enhance social bonds between employees. It opens new scope for discussing youth ideas and views and use their constructive ideas to support the ministry strategy”, Al Nuaimi added.
