Abu Dhabi: The Martyrs' Memorial will now be known as “Oasis of Dignity”, with His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, approving the new name on Wednesday during an inspection visit to the Memorial .
Being built in Abu Dhabi against the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Oasis of Dignity will be in honour of and in recognition of Emirati martyrs’ sacrifices in defending their home country and maintaining its achievement.
“The sacrifices of the UAE martyrs will be always present in our minds and a source of pride and strength for the nation. Their deeds set an honorable role model of giving and sacrificing and will be a beacon that illuminates the country’s path towards the future, Shaikh Mohammad said.
He noted that the sacrifices of the martyrs provide influencing lessons that inspire generations to come with best examples of loyalty and sacrifices for the sake of the country‘s stability, dignity and security.
The Oasis of Dignity will be a national landmark that commemorates the sacrifices of Emirati martyrs in battlefields. It will embody the values of honour and solidarity towards achieving the end goal of preserving the country’s prestigious position and its pioneering in all areas, Shaikh Mohammad added.
