Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, yesterday conferred the Medal of Independence of the Third Order on Keiichiro Okabe, Chairman of the UAE-Japan Friendship Society.

The gesture comes in recognition of his efforts to enhance friendly relations between the peoples of both countries.

Shaikh Mansour honoured Okabe when he received him at his office in the Presidential Palace. During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

Shaikh Mansour praised the level of relations between the UAE and Japan in various fields, especially in the fields of economy and culture. He also highlighted the role played by Okabe to strengthen the society’s programmes and extend bridges of cooperation.

Ahmad Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, and other officials were present.
