Cairo: The Al Maktoum Foundation will begin implementing a charitable project in the governorates of Egypt this week that will see the distribution of 20,000 food baskets.

The move follows the directives of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, and the first phase will be launched in Sohag and Assiut.

Mirza Al Sayegh, vice-chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, said that the distribution of the food parcels follows the directives of Shaikh Hamdan, patron of the Al Maktoum Foundation, to distribute aid in remote areas of governorates in Upper Egypt.
