Dubai: Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of Dubai’s Executive Council (DEC), on Monday chaired the council meeting held at Emirates Towers.

The meeting discussed the recent updates pertaining to the health insurance policy in Dubai, which was presented by Dubai Health Authority (DHA). The policy is in line with the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve people’s happiness. It also complements Dubai’s strategic plan.

Shaikh Mohammad recently approved the Dubai health insurance law for the purpose of enhancing Dubai’s local and global position by setting up an efficient and sustainable health-care system.

The council reviewed the human rights policy submitted by the council’s security and justice committee. The policy comprises six aspects that aim to safeguard people’s rights, such as those concerning human trafficking, as well as rights of workers, women and domestic help.

The council then reviewed the comprehensive knowledge management programme presented by the General Directorate of Dubai Police. The council looked into a proposal for implementing the programme in all Dubai government departments for developing knowledge-based bodies and their investment in human resources.
