Dubai: Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Supreme Legislation Committee, has issued resolution No 7 for 2015 on the formation of technical committees for legislation and determining a work system.

The resolution identified the goals of the technical committees that include backing up the work of the supreme legislation committee in studying legislative bills and reviewing the suggested amendments, enhancing coordination between different government entities in Dubai when studying legislative bills, and ensuring their speedy completion after referring them to the supreme committee by the concerned departments.

According to the decision every technical committee is responsible for its specialisation. Thus, the financial and economic legislations committee will be concerned with studying and reviewing relevant financial regulations for the government, regulation fees and taxes, industry and trade, tourism and financial free zones and other areas for development, government investment, marketing business and companies and establishment affairs, while reviewing any amendments suggested by concerned authorities

The infrastructure and environment legislation committee is responsible for studying and reviewing the draft legislation related to energy, transportation, roads and transport, sanitation and environment, agriculture, electricity, water, urban development, land, real estate and municipal affairs, planning and construction.

The health committee will be concerned with legislations related to public safety, the study and review of bills related to public health and health care and public safety.

The resolution also stipulates the formation of a sub-committee called the Committee for legislative review to be set up through a decision made by the President of the Supreme Legislation Committee and to be composed of the heads of the technical committees formed under this resolution to take charge of the study, review and approval of legislations adopted by the technical committees for submission to the Supreme Committee.
