Sharjah: A new long-term parking service will be launched soon in a number of residential areas across the emirate of Sharjah, Sharjah Municipality announced on Sunday.
The to-be launched service will allow motorists to park their vehicles for long periods depending on the requirement of the motorist.
The move aims to eliminate the phenomenon of distorting the public landscape and to help Sharjah residents, especially those who travel for lengthy periods, throughout the year.
Thabit Salim Al Al Tarifi, Director-General of Sharjah City Municipality, said that the municipality is always keen on providing unparalleled and inclusive services for the public to ensure the satisfaction of all residents. It is also keen on fulfilling its commitment towards such services to ensure their quality and contribute to achieving the municipality’s strategic goals and vision to make Sharjah a modern city that enjoys quality and sustainable services.
“The long-term parking service will put an end to the problem of parking cars under buildings, in front of houses and in car parks in mosques’ for long time and thus defacing the cultural and aesthetic appearance of the city”, Al Tarifi added
He noted that the service will offer various facilities such as keeping vehicles under sustained monitoring and follow-ups by security guards who will be available throughout the day, keeping vehicles clean and secured against accidents, weather conditions and wrong parking and keeping them in designated areas.
