Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan received an invitation to attend the third South American-Arab Countries Summit (ASPA) due to be held in Peru in October. The invitation was presented to Dr Saeed Al Shamsi, Assistant Foreign Minister for International

Organisations, during a meeting yesterday with Peru’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jose Beraun.

They discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations and tapping available resources in the economic cultural, tourist and environmental fields,investment promotion and exchange of expertise in these areas.

Al Shamsi highlighted the strategic partnership between Arab countries and Latin America for promoting joint dialogue, building

solid economic and political bonds, harnessing business and investment opportunities and unifying stances on international

issues. As one of the world’s key food baskets and fastest growing economies, Latin American countries maintaini increasing influence on the international scene.
