ABU DHABI: The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has inaugurated the Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital, built at the cost of Dh23 million, in the Seychelles.
The move comes in line with the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the support of Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, to deliver humanitarian and development aid to Seychelles and support the health sector in the country.
Mohammad Haji Al Khouri, Director-General of the Foundation, Ahmad Saeed Al Neyadi, UAE Charge d’affaires in Seychelles, Jean-Paul Adam, Minister of Health in Seychelles, and other officials from Seychelles attended the opening ceremony.
The ceremony began with the unveiling of a commemorative painting. Those present praised Shaikh Khalifa for his generosity, which comes during the Year of Giving as part of the humanitarian aid initiatives by the UAE in many countries around the world.
An official source from the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation said that the initial idea to build the hospital was formed in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Planning in the Seychelles to gauge the health needs of the country.
Officials in Seychelles expressed their gratitude to Shaikh Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed for supporting the country with their generous humanitarian initiatives.
