Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for being chosen the Cultural Personality of the Year by the Shaikh Zayed Book Award.
“Shaikh Mohammad is truly deserving of being named the cultural personality of the year by the Shaikh Zayed Book Award, a massive iconic award that is named after the founding father, the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan,” said Shaikh Khalifa. Shaikh Khalifa said that there is no one more worthy of such an honour, and added that the peoples of the UAE, Arab and Islamic world, and everyone who knows Shaikh Mohammad can testify to his qualitative and influential developmental, humanitarian and cultural achievements.
“Honouring Shaikh Mohammad is like an honour to the UAE’s founding fathers, because he preserved their culture and heritage and continued their march with dedication and diligence. He succeeded in driving the country towards progress and development, and he is empowered with hope, determination and ambition. Year after year, the UAE government continues to perform exceptionally in all fields under his leadership, realising many achievements and paving the way towards achieving UAE Vision 2021,” Shaikh Khalifa said.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, congratulated Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid for being named the Cultural Personality of the Year by the Shaikh Zayed Book Award in its ninth edition.
“Naming Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid the Cultural Personality of the Year is meant to honour the vision and achievements of a leader who has sought to have the name of the UAE be engraved in golden letters in history, as well as to strengthen the UAE position on the global arena,” Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed said.
He said that the honour comes in recognition of Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid’s long record of successes and achievements in all walks of life and development, knowledge and culture, among many others.
“It is a prestigious honour for a unique leader who devoted all his efforts to press ahead with the march of development and building of the nation, extending bridges of communication, following in the footsteps of Shaikh Khalifa,” Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed said.
“Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid has succeeded in driving the nation to new horizons of progress and development, becoming a role model for inspirational leaders, who laid down an outstanding and inspiring experience of development that proved the possibility of multi cultural and religious people to live side by side in peaceful coexistence and love for the good of humanity,” Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed added.
Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser and Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, said that the honour is well-deserved for an exceptional Emirati figure that enjoys a fine reputation that has spread beyond UAE borders.
Shaikh Hazza said that Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid’s great humanitarian achievements have reached global heights, and represent a unique model that has lasted over decades. He added that Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid does not know the meaning of the word ‘impossible’ when it comes to his vision for his people and mankind, and pointed out that his visions and initiatives have reached scientific, knowledge, cultural and humanitarian fields, which is rare in our contemporary world.
