Dubai: Some branches of Dubai government departments will be open during the Eid Al Adha public holiday, from September 11 (Sunday) to September 15 (Thursday), for the public sector.

Regular government working hours will resume on September 18 (Sunday) after the intervening weekend. A number of government departments will adopt Eid timings during the long break.

Transport

To meet the high Eid demand for public transport, Dubai Metro’s Red and Green Lines will operate until 2am, until September 13 (Tuesday). They will generally start at 5.30am.

Public parking meanwhile will be free from September 11 (Sunday) to September 17 (Saturday), except in the Fish Market and multilevel parking buildings.

Health care

A few branches of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) health centres will remain open round the clock on all Eid holidays, as will emergency departments.

DHA hospitals and health centres will work as per shift timings and medical practitioners will be on call to ensure work continues as usual. The emergency departments of all DHA hospitals will be functional round the clock on all days.

However, all clinics at Dubai Hospital, Rashid Hospital and Latifa Hospital will remain closed from September 11 to 15.

Meanwhile, Al Muhaisnah health centre will be open from September 11 (Sunday) and September 15 (Thursday), from 8am to 1pm.

Immigration

For visa and immigration services, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs in Dubai will keep open its Al Twar and Al Manara branches from 9am to 1pm, September 11 to 15. Its Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 External Service Centre will be open 24 hours a day on all days.

Business

In Sharjah, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry said business persons and investors who want to apply for certificates of origin and certificates of membership can visit the chamber’s offices on September 14 and 15, from 9am to 1pm.
