Abu Dhabi: The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) has said that the fee for renewing identity cards for all categories of customers is the same as the issuance fee. The fee for issuing a replacement card is Dh300 while the fee to change the information printed on the card is Dh150, which will be added to the fee for filling the form as per the channel used by the customer.

The FAIC on Wednesday dismissed social media rumours that it has adjusted its service fees.

It affirmed that it does not charge fees for application, and also gives exemptions to customers with social security, people of determination, and the elderly.

It added that the fee structure is approved by the Cabinet of Ministers’ Resolution No 14 for 2005 and Resolution No 25 for 2011, stipulating that the fee for the registration and issuing of an identity card for UAE nationals and Gulf Cooperation Council nationals with a validity period of five years is Dh100. The validity period for residents is set according to their years of residence, and the issuance fee is Dh100, to be added to the fee for filling the e-form, which is Dh70 in printing offices and Dh40 if they apply through the authority’s website or its smart application.

The FAIC urged customers to contact the call centre (600530003), or visit its pages on social media, or its website, as well as customers happiness centres to verify information.
