Abu Dhabi: Hiring and empowering national cadres are a top priority for the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said minister Nasser Bin Thani Al Hameli.
This comes in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to accelerate the pace of Emiratisation in the private sector, Al Hameli added.
The minister made these remarks recently while meeting with a host of Emirati businessmen and residents of Al Bateen at Al Bateen Majlis where the ministry’s Emiratisation strategy in the private sector was reviewed.
“The ministry is implementing a qualitative package of policies, programmes and initiatives to contribute to achieving the goals of the National Agenda of UAE Vision 2021 in relation to Emiratisation, which is a national responsibility that requires concerted efforts and integration of roles between different governmental and private bodies,” Al Hameli said.
Saif Al Suwaidi, undersecretary of Human Resources, and a number of senior officials attended the meeting.
The minister referred to the new methodology adopted by the ministry to deal with Emiratisation based on three basic principles. The first is to consider Emiratisation as a joint responsibility that requires the development of partnership with the federal and local government sector and free zones. The second is to develop a strategic framework for manpower planning by focusing on quality Emiratisation in targeted sectors and jobs while the third is to encourage private institutions to hire Emiratis and encourage citizens to join and continue to work in targeted sectors and jobs.
He also referred to the remote working initiative, which aims to create job opportunities for citizens looking for work in remote areas through providing and equipping the headquarters.
The ministry is working with its partners to establish a unified database of the UAE workforce through the National Observatory project, which will provide accurate and specific figures of citizens seeking work at the state level, in addition to establishing a unified portal for employment in cooperation with federal and local governments, the minister added.
