Abu Dhabi: A health-care programme for Foreign Ministry employees in the UAE and abroad was launched yesterday (Wednesday) by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister.

The programme aims to provide the highest quality of health care to the ministry’s employees, creating a qualitative shift in the field of public health.

Shaikh Abdullah, in a handwritten letter addressed to employees, stressed that this programme falls within the framework of the UAE government’s National Agenda and in line with UAE Vision 2021 to embrace a healthy lifestyle that reduces risks of suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Shaikh Abdullah said that the employees are a key component for driving forward the march of development, and that the health and fitness programme was adopted by the ministry in cooperation with its strategic partners to raise the employees’ health awareness and to ensure that the UAE continues to top global competitive lists in the category of the happiest people in the world.
