Abu Dhabi: The late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan laid a unique framework for supporting humanitarian causes and to alleviate the suffering of people impacted by conflicts and disasters, Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, said in a statement on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Day, which is marked on the nineteenth day of Ramadan.

Shaikha Fatima said that the people of the UAE do not just remember Shaikh Zayed on this day but throughout the year because the humanitarian framework that he established remains intact and remains a model for giving.

Shaikha Fatima said that the UAE’s generosity to humanitarian causes is unstinting, with its allocation for aid from its national income being the highest in the world.
