Abu Dhabi: The UAE has adopted a unique approach in supporting and enhancing the humanitarian and charitable work inside the UAE and abroad, said Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

Speaking on the occasion of the International Humanitarian Day, Shaikha Fatima said: "The philanthropic values have always been deeply entrenched in the UAE people who followed the footsteps of late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The UAE leadership pays a great attention to humanitarian issues that affect a large number of people around the world. It always seeks to alleviate humanitarian crisis and avoid their possible risks as much as it can through issuing continuous directives to support affected people and offer best aid services to ease their sufferings."

The UAE is offering a helping hand to all crisis stricken countries and doesn’t want any thing in return as its only goal is serving the humanity, Shaikha Fatima added.

Extending support and help to refugees to ease their sufferings is a humanitarian and religious responsibility of all countries as humanity is above all languages and borders, Shaikha Fatima said.

She sympathised with refugee women and children who pay the ultimate price of conflicts and being chased by crises from one place to another. “We all share the responsibility of easing their sufferings”.

Shaikha Fatima referred to the initiatives she had launched earlier in this regard, including the establishment of a fund for refugee women, which aims to provide a decent life to women suffering from difficulties due to natural and man-made reasons.
