Abu Dhabi: Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women’s Union (GWU), Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, received the Mother Teresa Humanitarian Order from Atifete Jahjaga, President of Kosovo.
The honour was conferred on Shaikha Fatima when she received Atifete at Al Bahr Palace on Monday. Atifete said that Shaikha Fatima is a pioneering global leader who works diligently for achieving peace and equality among people.
Meanwhile, the office of Shaikha Fatima and the office of Atifete signed an agreement to build the Children Surgery Hospital in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. The agreement reflects Shaikha Fatima’s commitment to health care for children across the world and embodies the strong relations between the UAE and Kosovo.
Shaikha Fatima said that providing humanitarian assistance and alleviating the suffering of children in various regions across the world is the best way to enhance interaction among people at large and spread a culture of peace and love among them.
