Abu Dhabi: Emiratis are exempt from pre-entry visa to China as of January 16, 2018.
The UAE and China Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, to exempt UAE nationals carrying ordinary passports from obtaining pre-entry visas, with the possibility of staying for up to 30 days on each visit, starting from January 16, 2018.
Ahmad Elham Al Dhaheri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Ni Jian, China’s extraordinary Ambassador, signed the MoU yesterday (Tuesday).
Al Dhaheri said the initiative by the Chinese government reflects the UAE’s internationally acclaimed position and reaffirms the growing relations between the UAE and China.
He added the exemption will open new avenues for UAE nationals, which will positively reflect on the tourism, trade, investment and other fields.
