Abu Dhabi: As part of various activities organised to honour the heroes who sacrificed their lives to serve the country, and in line with the first UAE Commemoration Day, the Emirates Post Group joined hands with The Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court to issue the first postage stamp as a tribute to the country’s heroes.

This initiative is part of the activities marked by the office in cooperation with all government and private agencies and individuals in the country to honour the sacrifice and heroism of the martyrs who serve as a role model for present and future generations.

The new stamp represents the values of respect, appreciation, honour, courage and loyalty and highlights the pride the UAE takes in the sacrifices of the heroes of the nation.

The stamp that carries the slogan ‘Commemoration Day’ will be available at all post offices from November 30.

“Emirates Post Group is proud to issue the first postage stamp and postage card carrying the distinctive Commemoration Day logo. This marks our expression of gratitude and appreciation to the families of the national heroes, who are the sons of the entire UAE society and deserve all the honour for their ultimate sacrifices. On this occasion the stamps will be distributed to all postal areas in the country,” Ebrahim Bin Karam, Executive Commercial Director, Emirates Post Group, said.
