Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Identity Authority’s Karama registration centre in Dubai will be closed for 45 days from Sunday for a redesign of the premises.
An Emirates ID statement on Wednesday said the redesigning of the Karama registration centre is to upgrade the facilities to ensure a better service experience for customers.
The authority said it has provided alternative appointments to all customers who were due to complete the registration process at the Karama centre and notified them via text messages. The customers can reschedule the registration appointment by contacting the call centre on 600 530003.
Upon completion of the redesign work, the registration capacity of the Karama centre will increase to 1,000 customers per day. The centre will offer more than 50 parking spaces and provide all services related to the ID card. It will also serve special needs customers.
Emirates ID currently has five full-fledged registration centres and offices in Dubai in Al Barsha, Al Rashidiya, Residency and Foreigners Affairs Office, the Office of the Rulers Court, and Hatta. Additionally, there are six registration centres attached to the preventive medicine centres across the emirate in Al Muhaisnah, Al Baraha, Al Satwa, Al Quoz, Knowledge Village and Jafza (Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority). These are part of 60 registration centres and offices of the Emirates ID across the country.
