Dubai: The Dubai Government Initiative 2021 was launched on Monday during the first day of The Government Summit – an initiative aimed at integrating technology to improve the daily lives of residents.
Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, yesterday launched the initiative that further enhances the UAE’s position as a global destination for its government expertise.
Initiative 2021 will be implemented with concise and strategic objectives determined by performance indexes and will be supervised by the Dubai Executive Council.
During a video presentation, Shaikh Hamdan’s initiative explained how the government intends to restructure its services and propel Dubai in the global competitive arena by transforming it into a smart city.
Initiative 2021 introduces a new framework between customers and the government, which will be similar to the management style of customer relations followed by companies in the private sector.
In a statement released by the Dubai Press Club, the initiative aims to incorporate all government bodies and turn them into a single entity, in order to provide comprehensive services to customers in an easy and efficient manner.
The main focus of yesterday’s video presentation was the government’s aim to provide instant services by 2021 through the use of technology, and is expected to be completed by 2021 alongside the National Agenda recently launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The initiative will provide customers with the facility of a personal account page, through which they will be able to access to a single portal that provides access to all governmental services. This portal will also provide customers with updates on the progress of transactions and procedures that are pending. Additional services also include notifications to customers regarding the pending payment of fees related to public utilities, such as water, electricity and telephone bills.
The portal will be available as an application for computers and smartphones, and as part of the transformation into an mGovernment, all governmental services will be available through a single toll free number.
