Dubai Police’s 901 receives 7,179 calls in Ramadan

People use chat service to contact police for enquiries

Dubai: Dubai Police’s non-emergency line (901) received 7,179 calls since the beginning of Ramadan.

Major Dr Mohammad Al Hammoudi, Director of the (901) call centre, which is part of the command and control room of the Operations Department, said that they have also responded to 2,705 chats in the first half of Ramadan. He added that the chat service has been popular especially with those residing outside of the UAE, as it is a free service. The 901 hotline has also seen a 48 per cent increase in calls from 2014.
