Dubai: The civic body is participating in the Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition (DIGAE) 2017, which is held from April 2-4 by the Government of Dubai under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
”Our participation in this important global event is part of our support to the Dubai Government Excellence Program,” said Mohammed Mubarak Al Mutaiwei, Assistant Director General of Dubai Municipality for Communications and Community Sector.
He added that in the exhibition the Municipality highlights the most important achievements in the field of government work, in order to spread knowledge and share experiences among participants at the local and international levels.
“We want to promote the vital role played by Dubai Municipality in the service of the community, especially as [we] play a key role in the great cultural transformation witnessed by our emirate,” said Al Mutaiwei.
He said the municipality has been a major supporter of environmental preservation, recreation and parks and other things that contribute to the happy society in Dubai.
Al Mutaiwei pointed out that Dubai is an excellent world leader in its systems and programs.
“It has been able to assume a prominent position among the cities of the world. Its leadership has brought it to the fourth place in global competitiveness and has been recognised as one of the top 10 cities in the world in e-transformation.
“The exhibition gives us the opportunity to showcase our wonderful government experiences and achievements. It is also an appropriate platform for the customers and government departments to learn about the best services and practices offered by the Municipality,” he said.
The exhibition includes a presentation on Saruq Al Hadid Museum. The museum, a forum for authentic collections, includes 890 artifacts found from 12,000 pieces discovered from the site of Saruq Al Hadid, which contains archaeological items of Dubai that dates back to 3,000 years.
The exhibition also include a number of achievements of the Municipality during the recent period, including the Desert Flower project, which is in line with the country's policy of adopting a sustainable urban approach to ensure progress.
