Dubai The Dubai Municipality will hire 300 people in 2012, Gulf News has learnt. The civic body also plans to increase its emiratisation rate by another 10 per cent this year.
The civic body will provide employment opportunities to fresh graduates and others in specialised fields including architecture, electrical and mechanical engineering and agricultural sciences. Khalid Ali Bin Zayed, director of the Human Resources Department at Dubai Municipality, said the municipality had recorded a significant progress in achieving its goal of emiratisation.
Remarkable progress
"The civic body, in recent years, has witnessed a remarkable progress in achieving its goal in terms of the nationalisation of maximum jobs and positions, as we can see many national cadres almost in all areas of municipal works, in which they were very few some years ago," he said.
Exhibition
The civic body will also be participating in the Careers UAE 2012 exhibition, during which it will provide employment opportunities to fresh graduates and others.
The human resources department has also assigned a specialised team to follow up on the applications that are received during the exhibition.
The municipality is looking for people in the areas of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, architecture, biology, chemistry and agricultural sciences.
Presently it has over 11,000 employees and has attained 52 per cent emiratisation. It has planned to raise emiratisation by another 10 per cent this year.
