Abu Dhabi: Diversity in the UAE community and coexistence are major drivers for a safe and secure country, a top official from the Ministry of Interior said on Wednesday.
All countries of the world face some form of challenges and the UAE is no different but inclusiveness and tolerance contribute to making the emirates safer at a time when instability is prevalent around the region, Major-General Dr Ahmad Nasser Al Raisi, inspector-general of the Ministry of Interior, said while announcing details of the International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience (ISNR) to be held next month.
Dr Al Raisi said, “We always emphasise that citizens and residents work as one team, and they coexist in this country enjoying equal rights. We see the diversity of nationalities, faiths, religions and cultures live together peacefully and that is our strength of being a safer society as more than 200 nationalities reside in the emirates.”
Dr Al Raisi who is also the chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of ISNR Abu Dhabi 2018, said, “This diversity reduces a lot the risk of challenges, which other countries face, as the country has adopted a very moderate policy for all residents of the country.”
All these factors contribute to a peaceful, safe and secure living for all resident in the UAE, he added.
About the national security challenges, he said, “We are not in an isolated place and we do have challenges as the whole world passes through these challenges.
“But today we are living in a region, which is in a state of instability in most of its parts but, thank God, we still live peacefully because of the wise leadership of the country, values of moderation, inclusiveness, tolerance and the principles set by the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the approach adopted by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.”
This year’s ISNR will be held on March 6-8 and will focus on internal security, and will showcase a wide range of products and services, and technology in the field of security. It will also highlight threat of cybercrimes, preparedness and emergencies.
Meline Eolmezian-Soulie, group exhibition director of the security and safety portfolio at Reed Exhibitions, said, “This year’s ISNR will help shape the future of national security through exploring the impact of digital transformation on the industry, introducing disruptive innovations, and bringing together regional leaders, stakeholders, and community members to build a safer connected world.”
Exhibition
The exhibition will be organised by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with Reed Exhibitions and is supported by Lt-General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
Hosted in partnership with Abu Dhabi Police and Dubai Police, the Future of Policing forum will tackle hot topics in the security industry, including crime prediction, facial recognition, smart police officers, and advanced machine learning solutions.
It will run from March 6 to 8 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. It’s expected to host 600 exhibitors from 55 countries in addition to over 200 government buyers and delegates. The mega security event will welcome 25,000 local and international attendees.
