Dubai: Saeed Ahmad Al Tayer, senior director of Jebel Ali Cargo Operations Department at Dubai Customs, was among the government employees who won prizes yesterday at the 16th Dubai Government Excellence Programme.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, presented Al Tayer with the Distinguished Government Employee Award yesterday at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
“In the past years, there have been great achievements under [Shaikh Mohammad’s] leadership and guidance that I cannot list all of them. You are not only satisfied with us in winning but in achieving excellence in what we do, and Dubai Government is always striving for every one of us to be victorious and excel in all our accomplishments,” said Al Tayer, during the opening ceremony.
As many as 26 public institutions from the emirate competed for the prestigious awards this year, and registered 415 nominees for the awards.
“Achieving victory and excellence does not happen without strong cooperation and all government bodies working closely together, and I want to thank all government employees for their strive to win, and be victorious and successful,” he said.
