Dubai: To mark the 30th anniversary of the British Business Group Dubai and Northern Emirates, the organisation is hosting a Great British Day Out for the first time at the British Embassy compound in Dubai next month.

Set for October 13, a “family-focused garden party” is planned from 4pm till midnight and will be a celebration of all things British, said organisers.

Picnic food, afternoon tea being served from Monty the Bus (1762’s unmistakable green double decker) and the Ghaf Kitchen food truck will be on hand throughout the celebration to mark the special milestone.

A special birthday cake will also be rolled out for the occasion.

“There will be giant wigwams, a bouncy castle and other activities for children provided by Canvas & Wood, with face painting and balloon bending courtesy of Flying Elephant, and an appearance from Crown Relocations’ Leo the Lion! The soundtrack to all of this will be provided by DJ Marky Mark, with a spellbinding performance from Magic Phil, thanks to British Mums Dubai. The Boxtones will also be performing live sets to give mums and dads a chance to dance the night away,” said organisers in a statement.

The paid-entry celebration is open to all.
