Abu Dhabi: The Arab Family Award has named King Mohammed VI of Morocco the "Personality of the Year for Family Cohesion" for the award's third edition

in recognition of his efforts and initiatives for boosting family security and safety and promoting social justice in the Kingdom, the Arab Family Organisation (AFO), organisers of the Award announced Sunday.

At a press conference at Emirates Palace Hotel to announce the winners of the award, Jamal Bin Obaid Al Bah, Chairman of AFO, described the UAE as the land of peace and the world's happiest people, and its capital, Abu Dhabi, as the capital of global peace and peaceful coexistence established by the founding father of the nation, the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Al Bah also praised the leaders of the UAE, namely President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.

The AFO chief thanked H.H. Dr. Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the honourary chair and patron of the Award for his unlimited support for the organisation and its award.

Emirati corporate winners of the Award include the College of Humanities and Social Sciences of the United Arab Emirates University, Noor Dubai radio station and Old People's Home in Sharjah. Emirati winner families include Abdullah Omran, the family of Martyr Tariq Al Shehhi.

At the press conference, Ambassador of Morocco to the UAE, Mohammed Ayat Wa Ali, conveyed the regards of King Mohammed VI for the leadership and people of the UAE, and to the AFO and the board of trustees of the Award.
