Sharjah: The Sharjah Department of Statistics and Community Development will start interviewing candidates on Tuesday, to fill 800 vacant and temporary posts that were announced in April regarding the Sharjah census of 2015.

The project will be launched in October under the title: “This is for tomorrow and not just for counting”. The project will include counting the population, houses and establishments in the emirate after about three weeks of receiving applicants for work from all nationalities.

A special committee appointed by the department will start conducting interviews with candidates to fill in these jobs starting from May 5 to May 27 at three locations in Sharjah, Dhaid and Khorfakkan in preparation for the selection of personnel who will join the Sharjah census team in 2015 to work on the statistical data collection and conduct field interviews with families and inventory facilities covered by the census.

The appointment of these work teams comes on the directives of His Highness Shaikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah where he issued on February the Emiri Decree No.7 for the year 2015 on conducting the General Census of Population, Housing and inventory facilities in the emirate of Sharjah to provide accurate statistical data on the economic, social and demographic conditions and other sectors in the emirate.
