Abu Dhabi: A 65-year-old resident who tested positive for the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (Mers) virus has died, the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) confirmed on Thursday.
Another person who tested positive for the virus is stable and under observation.
HAAD stressed that necessary precautions have been taken in the two cases.
The Ministry of Health said that epidemiological investigation centres are working to report early cases of the virus.
