Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received on Monday representatives of media organisations operating in the UAE.
Shaikh Mohammad exchanged with them greetings on the occasion of Ramadan. Shaikh Mohammad said that all forms of media plays a distinguished role in serving the UAE’s march of development. He pointed out that the media is a key partner in supporting the UAE’s progress efforts, and also bears the national responsibility and duty towards the community in raising issues and topics in a professional manner.
Shaikh Mohammad called on continuing efforts for qualifying and training national cadres in advanced media technologies, allowing them to carry out their national duty in developing media content. Shaikh Mohammad reminded every member of society of their responsibility in light of current global and regional events pertaining to extremism and sectarian incitement. He urged all institutions, individuals and media organisations to thwart those who promote ideologies of extremism, violence and terrorism, and to disclose their sickening reality and malice towards secure and safe societies.
He called on them to prove the falseness of these terrorist groups that exploit religion in order to convey their messages and ideologies of incitement that are destructive for Islamic and Arab societies. Shaikh Mohammad also urged them to refute the ideologies of these terrorist groups that contradict Islamic values of tolerance, peace and coexistence.
