ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence and the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority held a meeting to discuss means to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences in the field of licensing, protection requirements and the general safety of buildings.

During the joint meeting, the two authorities discussed several issues of mutual interest to enhance efforts in the field of protection, prevention and public safety. They also discussed the terms of reference for the General Directorate of Civil Defence while issuing permits and licences to buildings.

Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, director-general of Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, reiterated the importance of these meetings for integrating various point of views, creating opportunities for experts and specialists in the ministries to exchange opinions about civil protection, and undertaking preventive measures against fires and accidents.

Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, director-general of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said the authority, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, was working to implement the rules and regulations of safety and prevention, as well as meet all the other requirements.

The authority is keen to enhance cooperation and coordination with state authorities to implement measures that ensure the safety of all buildings.
