Addition of new infrastructure, roads and utilities highlights government’s strategic plans
Abu Dhabi: A number of road and infrastructure projects and utility services worth Dh544 million have been approved by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council’s Executive Committee.
The projects were approved during a meeting of the committee presided over by Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Chairman of the Executive Office, as part of Abu Dhabi government’s strategic plans, which aim to create and develop integrated urban areas to meet the needs of society and improve the quality of life offered to residents and visitors.
The projects include road and infrastructure projects in Mohammad Bin Zayed City that will add new internal roads, water, sewerage and electricity networks, and public amenities. The project will also involve the construction of an irrigation and rain drainage system as well as the provision of streetlamps on internal roads.
The committee also approved the installation and maintenance of signboards in the Western Region to reflect the unified addressing and spatial system in Abu Dhabi at a cost of Dh36 million. The unified addressing system makes locating places across the emirate simpler by employing modern technology such as the rapid response codes on streetlamp poles or numbered plates in buildings.
Other projects include completing the development of the Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Road from the Al Falah Road interchange to Qasr Al Bahr interchange at a cost of Dh54.5 million.
