LONDON: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met Boris Johnson, British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, in London on Thursday.
During the meeting, Shaikh Abdullah and Johnson discussed ties of friendship between the two countries and ways to enhance them.
Underlining the need to enhance cooperation in commercial, economic and investment fields, Shaikh Abdullah called for tangible steps to finalise signing of a free trade agreement between the GCC countries and the UK, especially after the latter’s exit from the European Union.
The meeting touched on the means to cement bilateral cooperation in all domains, and the importance of developing them in a way that would meet the two countries’ aspirations.
The two sides reviewed aspects of coordination and consultation on bilateral issues, as well as the current regional and international developments. They also exchanged views on topics of mutual interest.
Shaikh Abdullah emphasised the importance of UAE’s relationship with the United kingdom and praised the progressive ties between the two friendly countries and peoples.
