Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, and Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, on Monday attended an evening event titled ‘Zayed ... The Humanitarian Leader’, which was held at Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

In his opening speech, Dr Mohammad Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, said that the event comes in recognition of Shaikh Zayed’s accomplishments and is a reminder to generations of his noble values and cultural achievements and his stature nationally, regionally and globally.

He added that the event is a renewal of the oath of allegiance and loyalty to UAE’s wise leadership represented by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.

The evening was sponsored by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, in collaboration with the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre and the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.

Zayed Humanitarian Day is marked on Ramadan 19 every year, in memory of the founder of the state, Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
