Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, are attending the annual meetings of the UAE government in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, the UAE launched a Dh500 million project to build a city simulating life on Mars. Up to 120 national initiatives will be launched across 30 sectors at the local and federal levels Tuesday, the start of the two-day UAE government annual meeting. 

Both Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed will chair the meetings in Abu Dhabi.

About 450 senior officials are participating in the two-day event on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The annual meetings will focus on reviewing two key national development plans: UAE Vision 2021 and UAE Centennial 2071.

Part of the agenda is the launch of long-term national strategies, including the UAE Soft Power Strategy, the Emirates Higher Education Strategy, the UAE Fourth Industrial Revolution Strategy and the UAE Water Security Strategy.

The goals and progress of UAE Vision 2021 will be assessed, and a plan for the next three years will be outlined. 

More than 33 topics will be discussed, including: economy, infrastructure and housing, health, youth, resettlement, environment, energy, higher education, and scientific research, media, smart services, technology and innovation and gender balance.
