Dubai: Dubai Municipality has launched a new initiative in a bid to encourage the public to utilise its smart services.

In line with the government’s vision of transforming Dubai into a smart city, Dubai Municipality has launched an initiative to award the best organisational unit that has adopted smart services. The initiative was launched to accomplish a comprehensive transformation of its services to smart platforms.

Engineer Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said that the municipality is the first government body to endorse a smart transformation by encouraging organisational units to implement smart applications. He added that units are also encouraged to implement advanced interactive programmes, creativity and excellence.

The organisational unit’s structure comprises seven sectors, which include 34 departments and 120 sections. The primary goal of “the best adoption of smart services” award is to encourage a complete transformation to smart services.

The goal is to decrease the number of applicants seeking traditional methods such as physically visiting units by 80 per cent in order to accomplish a 100 per cent move to smart services.
