Abu Dhabi: Weather forecasters are warning about dust-laden winds and poor visibility due to fog in some parts of the country.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) issued a warning on Friday, urging drivers to exercise caution, reduce speed and leave enough distance between vehicles because of chances of light fog and blowing dust.

It said relative humidity is likely to increase during night and early morning over some coastal areas on Saturday and Sunday.

In a statement, the centre’s forecast said, “The weather on Friday and over the next couple of days will be humid on the coast, as some light fog will form in the north, and clouds will emerge, especially in the east. These clouds may accumulate over the mountains in the afternoon.”

The NCMS also expected the weather to be dusty at times during the day, especially in the west. While the Arabian Gulf may be rough at times, waves in the Sea of Oman will be moderate, they said.
