Abu Dhabi: A 14-passenger electric shuttle bus will provide clean transport at Masdar City in Abu Dhabi and will save more than 60 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.
The bus will be used to transport visitors and employees around the city.
Phoenix Cars LLC based in Ontario, California, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Al Yousuf LLC based in Dubai, has supplied the Zero Emissions Utility Shuttle (ZEUS) for testing at Masdar City.
“Masdar City is dedicated to building the world’s most sustainable city and that mandates partnering with innovative companies to deliver solutions. That is why we are pleased to test the Phoenix all-electric shuttle for use at Masdar City. Phoenix has transformed a diesel bus into an electric bus and that is the type of innovation we use at Masdar City,” said Sultan Al Ali, head of real estate development and investment at Masdar City.

The Phoenix ZEUS is California Air Resource Board-approved and eligible for cash incentives in the United States.
