Abu Dhabi: Al Ain Zoo has signed an MoU with French National Museum of Natural History, covering a wide range of important initiatives between them.

The zoo and the museum will establish an information exchange programme for sharing knowledge on conservation, best practices in animal management and marketing initiatives and insights. The partnership will lead to the development of joint programmes such as animal exchanges, staff learning visits and other initiatives that assist both organisations.

This agreement will complement Al Ain Zoo’s increasingly wider mandate which includes strong elements in education, scientific research and outreach that Al Ain Zoo will introduce with the new Shaikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre.

Dr Mugheer Al Khaili, Deputy Chairman of Al Ain Zoo and Chairman of the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi, attended the MoU signing ceremony.

Ganem Al Hajiri, Al Ain Zoo Director General, said that Al Ain Zoo is very excited to have a partnership with such an major name in the world of zoos. “This relationship will lead to many synergies and spark innovation in the field of conservation, education and visitor experience. We are delighted that our ongoing efforts in these areas have been recognised by Paris Zoo and indeed the wider zoo community, as noted by our recent full membership in the European Zoo and Aquarium Association,” he said.
