Dubai: The Nobel Museum Exhibition, which has brought discoveries and inventions that have changed the world and improved the lives of many people, will now remain open until May 7 and will be turned into an annual event.

The exhibition was extended following the directives of Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF).

The travelling museum, the first in the region, has been organised by the MBRF and aims to shed light on ‘Ideas Changing the World’ — a theme that’s meant to inspire intellectuals and students to contribute to making a difference and helping humanity face future challenges.

Bringing to life the achievements of Nobel Laureates in physics, chemistry, physiology, medicine, literature and peace at the Burj Khalifa Annex, the exhibition has witnessed huge interest from specialists and intellectuals as well as university and school students. A series of workshops organised by the Foundation on the sidelines of the exhibition attracted wide participation from all groups, especially young Emirati talents and innovators.

During a conference on Thursday, Jamal Bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of MBRF, said the extension until May 7 will give the public a chance to check out the museum.

“Considering the huge turnout of visitors to the museum, we believe this will be an opportunity for more visitors to get to know closely the works of the most important scientists and innovators in the world.”

Bin Huwaireb said the Nobel Museum exhibition in Dubai has been successful in attracting thousands of visitors from different nationalities and community groups.

“As a major platform for the exchange of views and experiences on creative and innovative content, the exhibition has also drawn the attention of specialists as well as the local and international media.”

He said the MBRF is happy that the Nobel Museum exhibition has been a source of inspiration “for the talented sons and daughters of the UAE”.

“We are confident that one day, their names will shine among the list of Nobel Prize winners. The youngsters of our beloved country have the determination and passion to attain the knowledge required to take them to top positions in various fields. And this is what we saw clearly when we hosted the ‘Emirati Innovation Day’ as part of the Nobel Museum exhibition.”

He also said that the MBRF will continue with this journey of innovation and excellence with the second Nobel Museum exhibition in Dubai next year.

“It will be an event that encourages creativity and innovation, opening new horizons of knowledge for everyone.”
