Abu Dhabi: A cohort of 22 Emirati students will constitute the first class of the new UAE-German College of Logistics, which was launched last week. This is the first German university to partner with the Higher College of Technology (HCT) in Abu Dhabi.

"The UAE-German College of Logistics is a joint venture between HCT and a consortium of three German Universities: Technical University of Applied Sciences, Wildau, the Bremen University of Applied Sciences, and the Jade University of Applied Sciences," Dr Hamad Odhabi, associate academic director at HCT told Gulf News.

The joint college will offer a four-year bachelor's degree in Engineering logistics management, and a masters in engineering.

"The first two years will be a common course with transportation engineering cohort. Students can then specialise in one of three disciplines: logistics management offered by the new college, maritime or transportation in general, which are offered by HCT," Dr Odhabi explained.

"In their final academic year, students will attend one semester in Germany, followed by an internship in a renowned German company for another semester," he said.
