Abu Dhabi: The Higher Committee for Child Protection at the Ministry of Interior recently held discussions on programmes to help protect children during the new academic school year.
The meeting was attended by several other organisations, including educational bodies, with the attendees emphasising the need to implement the policies and developments that resulted from the conference.
Major General Dr Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minster of Interior and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Child Protection at the Ministry of Interior, chaired the meeting during which he highlighted the importance of protecting children and the policies put in place by the ministry that have contributed towards child protection.
Major Dr Mohammad Khalifa Al Ali, Director of the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Centre, spoke on the positive partnership between public and private civil society organisations, and said that increased collaboration and communication between all institutions would help achieve the goals of child protection in society.
The meeting was also attended by Brigadier Najim Abdullah Al Hosani, Head of the Social Support Centres Department at Abu Dhabi Police and Deputy Chairman of the Higher Committee for Child Protection; Brigadier Dr Mohammad Abdullah Al Murr, Director of the Dubai Police Human Rights Department; Colonel Dr Jasem Khalil Mirza, Director of Security Awareness at Dubai Police, Chairman of the Subcommittee for Outreach, Media and Research at the Higher Committee for Child Protection; and Adviser Mohammad Ahmad Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Subcommittee for Criteria and Legislative Requirements at the Higher Committee for Child Protection.
