Dubai: Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, offered words of congratulation and encouragement to the latest graduates of American University in the Emirates (AUE) at a glittering ceremony held at the World Trade Centre’s Shaikh Rashid Hall.

In his speech, Shaikh Nahyan congratulated the graduates and the university on the 10th anniversary of its establishment, especially as it now includes six colleges, saying the university provides students with the qualifications for success and excellence in academic specialisations that suit the needs of society.

He stressed that President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, have always highlighted that education is the definitive path to a brighter future, while expressing his pride at the university’s journey and its strong commitment to enhancing its performance.

Shaikh Nahyan also congratulated the AUE for being a significant contributor to the development and growth of the UAE.

The AUE conferred degrees on 470 students at its 7th commencement. Graduates from six colleges obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees, notably the colleges of Arts and Design, Business Administration, Law, Security and Strategic Studies, Media and Mass Communication, and Computer and Information Technology.

Family and friends applauded as the students, wearing academic robes and graduate caps, received their certificates from Shaikh Nahyan, Professor Muthanna G. Abdul Razzaq, president and CEO of AUE, and Mohammad Bin Bduwah Al Darmaki, university patron.
