Al Ain: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday (Monday) presented certificates to the 34th batch of UAE University (UAEU) graduates.
His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, was present at the graduation ceremony, which was held under the patronage of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Shaikh Mohammad presented the certificates to the graduates alongside Dr Ali Al Nuaimi, Vice-Chancellor of UAEU, and congratulated the graduates and their parents on this educational achievement. Shaikh Mohammad emphasised the keen attention provided by the UAE leadership, spearheaded by Shaikh Khalifa, to ensure a successful future for Emirati graduates and coming generations.
Shaikh Mohammad hailed the efforts of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Research and Chancellor of UAEU, and his close follow-up to develop the university on technical, educational and administrative levels in order for it to reach the ranks of prestigious universities around the world.
In his opening speech, Shaikh Hamdan expressed his pride in UAEU, which was set up by Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He stressed that the university was established on the values of qualifying students, providing them with knowledge, supporting their research, expanding their capabilities and encouraging the spirit of scientific research and innovation. Shaikh Hamdan said that UAEU, in line with the directives of Shaikh Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammad, is striving to improve the results of its educational process in line with the highest international standards and practices that are based on studying, knowledge and different experiences, qualifying Emirati graduates to enter the job market and contribute to UAE’s sustainable development.
Shaikh Hamdan also expressed his heartfelt thanks to Shaikh Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammad, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the UAE, for their continued support for higher education.
Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, and other senior officials were present.
