Abu Dhabi: Teacher plays an essential role in consolidating the values of tolerance, brotherhood, coexistence and peace, said Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance and President of Zayed University.
On World Teachers’ Day which falls on October 5, Shaikha Lubna added that the teacher is a fundamental pillar in the education system and holds the responsibility of educating the generations, pushing students to scientific research and reading to enrich information and expand their knowledge.
She said that the UAE attaches great importance to education under the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Shaikha Lubna commended the ‘Teachers Tolerance Charter’ as one of the creative initiatives between the Ministry of Education and the National Programme for Tolerance, which comes to support the educational process and achieve the National Agenda 2021.
